A smart electricity meter automatically sends consumption data, ensuring accurate billing and more convenient service. It allows the customer to track their electricity consumption in real time, choose more advantageous tariffs and also account for self-produced “green” electricity, for example from solar panels. In addition, smart meters help to detect network failures more quickly and promote energy savings.
RECK SIA has successfully implemented smart electricity meter implementation projects in Latvia. Within the framework of the implemented projects, single-phase and three-phase smart electricity meters with PLC and 4G communication modems have been delivered, as well as PLC data concentrators with 4G communication modems and control accounting function. During the project, a Head-End system (test environment and production environment) has been delivered and implemented, smart meter and modem management software has been developed and implemented, as well as an encryption key management solution (software and equipment). Integration between the Head-End system and the Customer’s metering data reading system has also been developed and implemented. A 6-year warranty is provided for the delivered equipment and solutions.
